    About my career as a translator

    I am a professional translator with over 17 years of experience, supported by an academic background from Lancaster University (UK), where I studied European Politics, Society and Culture, and a Master’s degree in East European Studies from Freie Universität Berlin (Germany).

    I began my career working on translation projects for small businesses, gaining practical experience in quality assurance processes and CAT tools. Alongside my studies, I also developed my Spanish language skills, further refining them during my time in Spain.

    Over the years, I have built long-term relationships with a wide range of clients. In the past 15 years, I have been regularly involved in large-scale translation and revision (including post-editing) projects for major suppliers of the European Commission.

    This experience has enabled me to specialise in political, legal, economic, financial, scientific, and technical translations, particularly in areas related to European Union policies and activities.

    Providing translation services between English and Slovak (EN–SK / SK–EN), with a specialisation in legislative and regulatory texts of a technical nature.

    My work includes translation, proofreading, and editing of EU-related content, particularly calls for tenders, corrigenda, and public procurement notices published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

    I have also translated a wide range of legal and technical documents for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry, including regulations, decrees, draft legislation, communications, and reports.
